Helen has been contributing to the design and layout of the quarterly Journal of The Beadworkers Guild since 2006. In that time, she has worked successfully with three editors, each of very different personality and method of working, and her presence has ensured a smooth transition from one to the next. Helen’s skill in placing a great deal of material on a page without it feeling at all squashed or crowded has been highly valued. She succeeds in presenting detailed and often complicated instructions in a way which is easy for our members to follow. By sensitive and clever use of colour to distinguish one area of text from another, Helen ensures that content is both clear and attractive. Helen has been responsible for three major makeovers of style for the Journal, demonstrating her willingness to accept change and her ability to ‘think outside the box’ on each occasion. As well as the Journal, Helen has been responsible for the design and layout of four major books published by the Guild (which required her to work with previously unknown contributors) as well as several more minor publications.
