Flag

Flag Design | Branding |
Point-of-Sale | Merchandise

This was an exciting project designing the official flag for Wiltshire. A vexillologist residing in Wiltshire, sought to create a flag that represents the county as there was no official flag. The flag was officially adopted June 2007.

The brief was to feature elements unique to the county. The design includes representations of the chalk downs and green hills of Wiltshire. A circle divided into six segments symbolises the six counties that surround Wiltshire. Additionally, the circle design represents the stone circles of Avebury and Stonehenge—two prominent tourist destinations. The bird depicted in the centre of the flag is the Great Bustard, which has been reintroduced to Salisbury Plain.

The flag design marked the beginning of the collaboration. Following this, a large quantity of merchandise was needed to promote the flag throughout the county. These items were produced until Wiltshire Council officially adopted the flag, at which point the design was made available to the public.
